Rishi Kapoor has been in New York for quite some time now and the actor has flown there in order to get treated for cancer. Rishi Ji who recently celebrated his 67th birthday and is in a rush to be back home and the actor has also expressed his feelings about it many times. Rishi Kapoor recently in a joint interview with wife Neetu Kapoor in New York spoke about his dear friends Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan and their contribution to Indian Cinema.

Rishi Kapoor has been battling through his cancer since long and has been undergoing treatment for the same in New York. The actor is cancer-free but is still receiving his medical treatment and is soon to be expected to return home. In an interview with TimesNow, Rishi Kapoor spoke about his two dear friends Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan. The actor mentioned how they have worked for a span of more than 50 years and have given a lot for Indian cinema, but their work has not been acknowledged. The veteran actor also mentioned about how they are not working currently, so what? But they have worked for the country for too long and they must be acknowledged for the same. Rishi Kapoor further went on to mention that he isn’t bothered about himself, but his dear friend Jeetendra has given a lot of entertainment to the country.


Touched by the words of Rishi Kapoor, veteran actor Jeetendra’s daughter and film producer Ekta Kapoor shared a tweet thanking the actor for his humble words. Ekta Kapoor in her tweet spoke about how friends are gems and appreciated Rishi Kapoor’s humble gesture of mentioning how Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan's contribution to Indian Cinema never get acknowledged. Finally, the producer in her tweet gave her blessings to Rishi Kapoor and said, “Duaaas n love for this powerhouse of an actor and amazing friend! May he b healthy n happy always.”

During the course of the interview, Neetu Kapoor spoke about how her family and kids were shaken and devastated by the news of her husband being detected of cancer. She also mentioned how the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor was in complete denial for months and finally became strong and accepted it bravely.

Rishi Kapoor spoke in brief on dealing with cancer said that he thinks people dramatize the disease as deadly and that it is completely curable these days. The actor also mentioned how people are dealing with all kinds of cancer and that you just have to be positive.

Rishi Kapoor and Jeetendra worked together in many films like Sindoor, Ghar Ki Izzat, Dosti Dushmani and Ameeri Gareebi. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor also worked with Rakesh Roshan together in Aap Ke Deewane and Khel Khel Mein.
